A number of years ago, my husband and I were looking for a new home. We went through a beautiful house - we could already picture ourselves living there. When we got to the bedroom, there was a huge painting hanging over the bed. My husband was so fascinated by that painting that he missed the layout of the bedroom and he even missed that there was a ensuite washroom.
Back home, we discussed if we should go back, but my husband wanted to see the other houses on our list first. Before we could return to the house we had liked so much, we found another house we liked equally and bought it! The owners of the first house lost the sale over this painting because it distracted my husband from the rest of the home.
A home stager is trained to look for distractions that will draw focus away from the qualities of the home and makes sure that the house is ready to be put on the market.
